An old chalkboard slate with a wooden frame serves as a great surface to paint. On this one, I painted a close-up of a bunch of fresh green grapes. The thing I love most about this painting is the wire that the grapes are being held on by their tendrils. To use a very trite, "artsy" explanation, there is a juxtaposition of man vs. nature here. Yes, I said it!
It is an item that was sold at the gift shop at Heron Hill Winery on Keuka Lake.
