I bought this chair with the intention of painting it. (I often do that.) However, I didn't know what I was going to paint on it until I got the idea to paint the legs as vegetables. They were just shaped perfectly as a carrot, celery and eggplant stacked on top of one another. There is no lack of reference for farm-grown vegetable stands in the Finger Lakes region. They are as abundant as the harvest. It is an item that was sold at the gift shop at Heron Hill Winery on Keuka Lake.
