Via Girasole is a gorgeous, upscale boutique gourmet and specialty shop located on scenic Schoen Place on the Erie Canal. They offer a variety of cheeses, salami, olive oils, olives,
savory snacks and spreads. They are also attached to Pittsford Wines, "Your Wine Shop On The Canal". Both shops share an entrance. The owners of the shops, Marie and Nicole Casciani were in need of a new OPEN sign for the storefront. They hired me to custom-design and hand-paint the sign. I used the European flavor of both shops as inspiration. Not only does the sign tell passersby the shops are open, but also gives a sense for the wide variety of items available inside. It sets the "tone" for the entire storefront. It is inviting, durable, noticeable and a conversation-piece!

The sign itself was custom hand-crafted by local artisan Patrick Ashley of the New Mission Workshop.
