A backsplash, or the wall above the counter and underneath a row of cabinets in a kitchen, is an unlikely - but fantastic - space for a mural! In this case, it gives the illusion of a more spacious kitchen. This particular backsplash features a custom-created hand-painted woods scene, to replicate what is seen right outside the window of this home. I included wildlife and wildflowers in the mural. Above the range, on the largest part of the wall, there is a ravine and stream.

The window frame was created by the homeowner herself, made from a variety of beautiful river rocks.
